A Day in the life of…..ME!

Well, seems like i’m a very irregular blogger. Fact is, i only do it when i’m bored, or i’m in the mood, or have something i wanna express etc(yeah, all those little things, u get what i mean).

I miss home!I mean, it’s like 3 months to go before i can actually get back to Malaysia where i know my way around, know more ppl and stuff. Term 1 was pretty good, managed to fit in pretty alright i guess, still getting used to syllabus, exam styles etc lor, nothing much to tell, here all u gotta do is pass, u’ll get credits, but excellences are slightly harder to get, ones u actually have to WORK for(it sux..i know). Right now, i can get excellences, just needa be careful n stuff, coz it’s like, if u stuff up just a lil, u lose all the marks for the question-just doesnt suit my mojo coz i’m the type who makes tons of careless mistakes even tho i know the answer somehow hehe =p. Hopefully, Term 2 will be better. I reckon it’ll be slightly harder, but it’s when stuff starts happening, or so i’m told. Also, first day of term 2 got badminton match..SHIT!I havent been playing much or very well lately, like total failure-i never could play singles, too slow, no stamina..etc, so i’m pretty nervous bout letting ppl down, and the fact that i got put into the first team w/o much of a tryout or anything makes that even worse. Like, goddamit how ppl are gonna talk if i screw up, just like how i screwed up my SPM in a way. GAH! Life’s a bitch, i screw up at the most important times, just when i think things r going pretty well, something crops up n screws it up..Thank you very much life!

Bah, lately, i havent heard much from friends from back home. Sorry guys! I wake up every morning i’ve left my com on for the night, n i see tons of msgs, i’m so sorry! Sometimes i just accidentally forget to set my status to away, n when i’m online, sometimes i set myself to away X.x . Weird, but true, so i’m really sorry if i dont reply u guys, it’s not that i dont wanna, i’m just kinda asleep, leaving my com on for dowloads. I so wanna know what’s going on back home, like, what’s happening with u guys, but the prob is like, time diff is so big, by the time anyone gets on, i’m already asleep(11pm is like 3am for me..=( ).

I’m just pretty bored atm, it’s holidays here, but freakin hell there’s NOTHING to do!!I went to cinema to watch "the inside man" the other day. It was a good movie, really suspense type, cool movie, recommended. But the point is, it’s the first movie i’ve watched since i’ve been here >.< , n i had to go all the way to city to get there. Tickets r like 13 nzd(so expensive!!), n since i went on easter, there’s nothing much to see in city as well(Bah!stewwwpid!). Well, also, there r like no malls to hang out here, the best thing we can do is just play bball, or football, and even that gets boring after a while, n it’s getting colder in the evenings, making walking back home not fun anymore, with sweat-soaked clothes.(u think it’s nothing, when cold wind blow u u’ll see la!). Today, went to dimsum with my family, aunt, n cousin. One thing, chinese food here isnt really like back home in Malaysia, it’s more like China cooking, or maybe HK in most cases. Can u believe, Lor mai fan is like..white colour..n tastes yuck. Won ton mee here also, white..no black sauce..wth! No mamaks, no char kuay teow(got lar, 7-8bucks nz, se dak mer?), chap fan also like, 8 bucks a plate, even tho it’s eat all u can, u have learn the skill of piling on the plate..so u’ll see lotsa ppl have plates of food looking like it’s gonna fall over (hehe..no more 2 plates for u aaron =p). Ok, enough bout food! I’m getting hungry..hehe

Hey y’all!Finally i’m able to blog again! I dunno why, but friendster’s been screwing up a lot lately. I couldnt get into my blog for the past few days.

Anyhow, it’s been a while since i’ve actually had a chat with anyone of yous, since the time difference is really that huge. I’m also a lil lazy to send out emails individually(there’s just too many!XD) so, please keep in touch with me through here? School’s been going good so far for me, i have friends, i have pretty good teachers. I think it’s only Chem that’s letting me down a lil. I mean, i thought i had a grasp of chem b4..but now, it’s like..there’s so many things we didnt learn in f5. i can honestly say i’m not sure if it was teacher’s fault?or the system’s fault. I mean, wth is bond polarity?everyone knows it but me! Oh, and i god an excellence for english..so we know our english is not bad aye? =P Honestly, thank god mrs liew exposed us to lots n lots of literature terms n such..otherwise i’d be worse than struggling here.

Weekends r a relief from all that studying n work, but at the same time, it’s kinda boring. Really, there’s no like OU here..or cinema n stuff. The nearest cinema is in takapuna, like 30mins drive i think, not that i can drive legally yet, but it’s maybe 40-50mins by bus. I havent watched a movie in ages man! Btw, anyone fresh from watching Passion of the Christ? I’m studying it for media but i forgot 2 bring my dvd over, it’s like a research thing, i kinda forgot the whole storyline tho, so if you’ve just watched it can u fill me in? Please and thank yous!

Hey guys, sorry i’ve been lazy to post n stuff =P

Nz has been pretty good 2 me so far, i’m settling in, i’ve made friends, though mostly asians and a fair number of malaysians. i just dont know what else 2 say, nothing much has been going on, apart from going 2 school, coming back, watching tv, playing com, playing ball n etc. I miss you guys, mostly talking n crapping around n stuff. i mean, honestly, things would be quite a lot more fun if some of yous were here. We’d laugh at dumb things the teachers do, all the crazy things ppl say n do here. Honestly sometimes, stuff these guai lou say n do, real weird lar.

Wow, i havent bothered updating in a while, but it’s really boring here. I miss u guys!I miss broadband internet, i miss my bed, i miss my house, i miss Malaysia, i miss cheap food, believe it or not i miss the RM too..lol!

Before i continue rambling, i have to thank all my friends for throwing me an unforgettable farewell. (My god man u guys, i think i’ll never forget that one..for real!) It was perfect!

Anyways, i’ve been here in nz for like 3 days now. I’m really outta my comfort zone right now. I know a total of 6 people in this country(that includes my family-my mom, dad, sis, uncle, auntie n cousin) and i’m living in a house with no furniture(It’s totally empty!!) coz the container with all our stuff’s not here yet, n thank god i have internet now, whether it’s thru tapping some1’s line, or just dialup, it’s the only thing keeping me sane right now. The time difference is also really challenging to keep up with. I feel pooped in the morning, and energetic at night. I’m actually 5 hours ahead of u guys in Malaysia in case ur wondering. So at 10 am here, it’s actually 5 am back home, and at 12 midnight, it’s only 7 pm.

Oh well, college is starting in about a week. Gonna go register soon i think. Hopefully will be able 2 meet some ppl in school, get someone 2 show me around, show me the ropes n stuff. Guess i’m really still getting used to the country.

Oh and by the way, Happy Chinese New Year everyone. Gong Xi Fa Cai n all that!I nearly forgot coz there’s like no CNY celebration here at all. No deco, no lion dance, no pau jiong..ahh..i miss all that!

Heya blog!It’s been a long time. I just havent had anything much to write about recently, it’s been free, but well, once i think about it..i’ve slipped back into a routine actually, albeit a new one; sleep, eat, play com, read, watch tv, sleep.

Well, i’ve been thinking, really, what’s gonna happen to us all in say 5-10 years’ time? What does the future hold for us? God knows if i’ll ever see all of my friends again, from the ones i’ve known for nearly 10 years, to the ones that may just consider me an acquaintance..I mean, somewhere down the line, will we meet again? I dunno, i really dont..it’s not that i’m really messed up over it, just that, it really makes me wonder..what’s gonna happen if we do meet say 5 years down the road? and what life is gonna make outta each of us, regardless of our plans or ambitions. I really wish i could talk to someone about all of this, but well, honestly, the ppl online now..i really dunno how to broach the topic with them. The truth of the matter is, i dunno if i really do have a so called, best friend. I dunno, maybe it’s because i never really cared enough to get that close to someone, or maybe it’s because i wasnt really open enough with myself towards others, or maybe it’s just me.

Haha, u know?i think the only person i could really seriously talk about this to, who would actually take me seriously and not skid around the topic would be hannah. (to those of u who are reading this and thinking something else, go soak ur head)

Anyways, to anyone who’s reading this, ur probably someone i know, and above all, a friend, for now and for always. Thank you for being a part of my life, and letting me be a part of yours. To anyone and everyone i’ve ever offended, i’m sorry, really, i didnt mean it.

Finally, after 11 years of schooling, SPM is OVER!!!(well, lil late, but i was too excited celebrating it, forgot 2 update here..hehe) So, i’m now no longer a student of SSB, but an ex-student. Haih, how time flies!

Yo! Everybody in the house!What up dawG! hehe, thought i’d try something fresh. As expected, it doesnt work for me. Anyways, after quite a long lay off, i’m back! This is somewhat an unappropriate time tho, i should be either sleeping or studying, but since i’m too lazy to do both, well, here i am again!

So, down to business, SPM has almost run its course, and here we are, nearing the halfway mark, with 5 subjects down, and another 6 more to go(that’s an amazing 11 papers done ladies and gentlemen, and another 13 more to go!!!) Next week, we’ve got moral and add maths. Well, moral is one tough cookie u know? Coz it’s a bloody freakin useless and TOTALLY POINTLESS subject, made to compensate for agama. Sigh, stupid stupid so called multi racial fair country..all the things we learn are once again, bloody hypocritical and a COMPLETE and UTTER WASTE OF TIME, since well, we have to learn everything word for word in the text book, and simple logic that even a kid could understand is not an acceptable answer. I mean, if the world and its rules were so strict and unbendable, if human beings were such predictable and straightforward creatures, this life would be so simple right? Well, we need to all face the facts and see that we’re NOT! No rules are so rigid that they cannot be bent or broken, no human so straight that he cannot be influenced or swayed by temptation. There had to have been exceptions, and some considerations, when the voice of reason spoke, otherwise we would be without many of the comforts that we enjoy now. I’m not saying that rules are made to be broken, but how can u defy logic just by saying "hey look, it’s not in the book, so i’m sorry, it makes sense, but i can’t accept ur answer" But well, it’s that kinda stupid system we’re victims of…

Anyways, mostly a lot i can think of right now is getting thru this week, finishing this so called,useful subject once and for all, get it done and over with, like drinking foul stinking medicine, except this wont do me any good since i studied something pointless, and then, one more week of serious serious study, chem and moral, and then it’s done, and i’ll be a free man! at least for a couple of months. I wanna go watch harry potter tho, i’ve seen the trailer, looks good, and i just can’t wait to see emma watson as hermione again, damn she just gets prettier and prettier every single year! I’m kinda disappointed in the director’s choice of actress for cho chang tho, i dunno, i just dont think she does justice to the character in terms of physical appearance and looks..imho, i would’ve liked to see Kristin Kreuk(who played Lana in Smallville) or someone like that to play that role. Well, once i’ve watched the film, i’ll surely post a review here, for those of u who actuallly read my blog hehe..

Anyhow, i’ve just remembered that 2day’s kevin’s birthday, so i’d like to wish him a HAPPY BIRTHDAY, tho i doubt he’ll ever read this seeing as he doesnt have frenster(hehe..i dunno what i’m doin right now..just crapping)So, after that, i’m done here! Good night ppl!

Everything you know or think you know about Malaysian films, you can throw away once you’ve watched this one by Yasmin Ahmad. Finally, after year after umpteen year of waiting, a Malaysian film has arrived with a touch of class, and more than its fair share of quality. Before I say any more, bear in mind that I was, and still am, not a big fan of malay films, or the malaysian film industry.

Now imagine this: I’ve heard so much about it and how good it is, and remained skeptical, and I watched this show, with very high expectations of it, and guess what? This show managed to exceed even that! It made me laugh, it made me really feel for the characters, and honestly, I have to say it’s one of the films lately that i have really enjoyed watching, and feeling the diversity of emotions. Through this film, the diversity of our Malaysian culture is truly captured, in living colour. From Loong’s Peranakan mom who only speaks malay, but is married to a typical Chinaman, who typically, hates malays and anything to do with them, including P. Ramlee’s songs to Orked’s family, so traditionally malay, still surviving in the modern day setting, and yet have their fair share of modernism, all our habits and typical Malaysian-ness is brilliantly captured in this film.

Although the dialogues were a little rough around the edges, and at times, one couldn’t help but feel that it was more than a little too formal in the beginning, eventually, it loosened up and became much more of manglish mixed with all the types of slangs and jargon we use nowadays. From the ‘lah’s to the ‘chiow’s, you name it, it’s got it.

Seriously, this movie is really a must watch if you’re malaysian. If you watch it with an open mind, this film will really give you a new perspective of something that we already know-how malaysian we are, and besides making us all the more proud of it, it is also a thought provoking movie which makes us wonder, what if that person had been me?

This is probably coz i’ve got no kampung to balik, no duit raya to ambik, and nothing to buat!(well, couldnt think of a finishing rhyme)

Bored. That pretty much sums up all that I am in this very moment. I can’t help it, after studying sejarah all morning. Reading all of our Rancangan Malaysia really puts me in the mood to sleep and sleep and sleep til tomorrow or something. It’s way too boring!(not to mention meaningless as it’s all bygones now) So basically, i’ve got about one and a half chapters left to endure and then i’m done with sejarah, and it’s time to move on to another godforsaken, insanely boring, and just plain useless subject, moral. I mean, who in the right mind actually puts all that crap to use? What i’ve been taught since birth serves me a lot better than that. All moral teaches us is to be hypocrites and try to fool ourselves and the examiners with bullshit values. (sigh, i have to do this before i can force myself to read that stuff..get it outta my system lol)

Well, anyways, SPM is 11 days away, and I can smell freedom already It’s right there..just outta reach right now.

Ps: Sorry Bernice, I really didnt know what to say, so I didnt say anything hehe. And Sam, i’ve already explored that possibility but i doubt it could be possible. I still do need that result u know..

Heya, Selamat Rayavali, or Deeparaya to all you muslims and indians out there!Enjoy ur celebrations! We’ll be here diligent-mmph-ly(these muruku are good! :p) studying for SPM. Imho tho, to me Deeparaya or Rayavali however u call it, seems to be a special new celebration for mamaks..haha..not to be discriminative or anything, but they’re the ones who’ll be the happiest this festive season..i’d be too if i were celebrating double festivities!:)

Anyways, 12 days to SPM, under 2 weeks to go til the big day, it’s crunch time now. We’ve gotta kick it up a notch, shift it up a gear and get ready to RUUUMMMBLE!!!! lol..overexcited(This is what happens when u catch me up at 1230am, secretly using my dad’s com). But back to business, I’ve 5 chaps of history to go, tons of exercises to do, but somehow today, i feel like somehow, i’ll make it in time, even if i have to suffer along the way, things’ll be alright, i dunno, maybe the festive air’s getting to my head. Even so, I still fail to feel that big anticipation, that crazy stress, insane pressure kinda thing that normally comes with exams. I’ve been telling myself, this is the big one, but still, not a shred of urgency exists in my mind. Anyone got any theories on why?
